About Us

Zenobia Fragments is a division of Zenobia Therapeutics founded in 2008 by Dr. Vicki Nienaber and Dr. Robert Meadows.  Our focus is 100% on making fragment-based lead discovery a success in our client's laboratories.

 

We have been working in the fragment field for over 20 years and support academic labs, small biotech and large pharmaceutical companies.

 

Our first fragment library was introduced in 2009 and over 100 copies have been sold worldwide. Our products have a reputation for quality and yielding reliable hits that can be converted into lead compounds. Like our namesake, Zenobia, we are not afraid of a challenge and pride ourselves on the scientific rigor and experience behind all of our products.

Zenobia is named after the Queen of Palmyria, Septima Zenobia, during the 3rd century. She was known for her ambition, love of hunting and pursuit of education. She was fluent in Egyption, Greek, Latin and Aramaic and surrounded herself with scholars ahd philosophers. She was also a fierce warrior best known for taking Egypt from the Roman empire in 272 C.E. Her vast empire extended from Egypt to Mesopotamia as well as Asia Minor. Zenobia was eventually captured by the Romans and taken into the capital in golden chains. Zenobia lived out the rest of her life in Rome as a nobelwoman.
